Outback

Monday began with a Souken meeting and watching the finale of Lost at Catera’s apartment. The ending was not great, in our opinion, but at least we have some closure. Tuesday night it was time for Japanese class. It’s interesting to get a taste of how our kids feel during English class. We began our holiday (aka the weekend) with dinner and a movie with Chelsea Sensei

Saturday afternoon we headed to Gran Stage to acquire some bedside tables. We had placed the boxes inside the basket when the bike proceeded to fall over, knocking over no less than 7 bikes. Here’s our handy work…

That night we had Mexican food night with the Worshams. We also played spades, watched The Office and played some Street Fighter 2.

Sunday afternoon we attended a tea party at the house of an English volunteer at Staci’s school. Potential double date? I don't know. One of the volunteers was actually an OC alum and sang us the alma mater. Here is a snapshot of the garden…

We also had a chance to go to Costco where we bought some essential items like Dr. Pepper and peanut butter. For dinner we went to Outback Steakhouse...

Last Sunday, Staci and I both attended her Sports Festival…

It was filled with some traditional events like hurdle races and many quite unusual displays of athletic ability. Staci had a lot of fun and consequently has a wicked sunburn…

That night Staci went to an enkai with the teachers from her school…

I stayed home and enjoyed a visit from the Kajiyamas. They brought me a birthday present and we talked until Staci came home. At that point, Yuko immediately dressed Staci in the yukata (summer kimono) she had purchased. I can’t believe I didn’t get a picture.

This week I bought myself an acoustic guitar as a birthday present. It’s a brand I’ve never heard of and haven’t been able to find much information about. But the important thing is it has a great sound and provides me with a creative outlet. Here it is…
